SUPPORT THE SRJO

Your support makes an impact at Seattle Repertory Jazz Orchestra!

As a nonprofit arts organization, we have a responsibility to provide high-quality music performances and education to our community, while keeping are concerts and programs accessible. How do we accomplish this? Through generous donors such as YOU, who empower SRJO to keep the American art of jazz thriving.

Some of the exceptional programs we offer include:

Jazz4Kids
SRJO Jazz4Kids concerts are special events that provide children and youth a rare opportunity to hear jazz performed live in an excellent concert hall. Your support helps us keep Jazz4Kids free for families and young musicians so they can experience the unique sound of this classic American art form.

Jazz Scholars
Music can be a doorway to self-esteem and self-expression. Jazz Scholars is SRJO's school-partnered program, providing jazz technique and instrumental music lessons for low-income and minority band students. The program began at Denny International Middle School in southwest Seattle, which has 120 students currently enrolled, half of whom qualify as low income. Jazz Scholars has expanded to include programs at Chief Sealth International High School, Aki Kurose Middle School, Concord Elementary, Highland Park Elementary School, Roxhill Elementary, Sanislo Elementary and West Seattle Elementary. Your support ensures that this program continues and expands.

New Works
Your support enables SRJO to continue promoting jazz as living art through commissioning new works, releasing CDs and working with fans, broadcasters, festival directors and promoters to present live music to audiences throughout the Northwest.

Matching Gifts: If you or your spouse works for an organization with a matching gift program, please take advantage of this effective way to double or even triple your gift! Check with your company's Human Resources office for the appropriate forms.

Sponsorship: You will enjoy the benefits of connecting with our highly desirable demographics of concert subscribers as well as networking with other business sponsors. If you are interested in sponsorship, please contact our Development Officer Linda Sherran at l.sherran@srjo.org.

Planned Giving: There are many opportunities available to make a planned gift to SRJO. A common method is to name SRJO as a beneficiary in your will. Wills can be amended through a simple supplement called a codicil without the necessity of redoing the original testament. Your estate will also receive a charitable estate tax deduction for the full amount of the gift. For information on other planned giving vehicles, contact our Development Officer Linda Sherran at l.sherran@srjo.org or talk to your financial advisor.

Donor Advised Funds: Donors contribute tax-deductible assets to their accounts, advise the sponsoring charity on how it should invest the assets so that they grow before they are granted, and recommend grants from their accounts to charitable organizations of their choice over time. Check with your financial institution about setting up a donor advised fund.

In-Kind Gifts: SRJO can use donated goods or services that we would otherwise need to purchase. Examples would be instruments for our Jazz Scholars, or items for our annual gala auction.

Volunteer: If you are interested in volunteering, please contact us or visit the "Join Our Team" page for current areas of need. If you have a volunteer project in mind that is not currently listed, please submit your proposal to info@srjo.org. We look forward to hearing from you!
